Tension Breaks Between the Nephilim and the Riders of Mannan

by Clave Reporter Adrianna Rodencal, September 2012, Idris Capitol

Over 2 days ago Emma Carstairs, a female Shadowhunter age 17, slew a Rider of Mannan. A fight broke out between the two group in Polperro. The topic of where the Black Volume was and who would get it is said to be the objective of the fight. The law of Cold Peace has not allowed the Fae from Faerie to talk or have anything to do with the rest of the Shadow World. The Riders came searching for the Black Volume to deliver to the King of the Unseelie Court.

With Emma’s famed sword “Cortana”, she slew the Rider named Fal after a vicious fight to the death. The Warrior’s sister Ethna had screamed, “Let me kill her! She has slain Fal, my brother! Let me also give her the same!” Emma threatened them and they retreated, leaving Fal’s body behind. The Riders threatened Emma after some eyewitnesses said that The Riders continuously asked Emma where the Black Volume. Julian appeared out of the shadows. “Parabatai.” Emma had whispered, with both of the Nephilim there still they could not convince the Fae.

“I watched as 3 men and 1 woman with pointed ears flew down on horses that seemed to be made of glass. Each of them wearing the same armor,” stated Emma’s Parabatai Julian, “They rode down their faces content on one thing and one thing only, the Blak Volume.

The Riders of Mannan stood before the team, “We are the Riders of Mannan, children on god, much older than the Wild Hunt you see, much more powerful. You can not defeat us you silly girl just listen to us and we might spare you. I am Airmed, that is my brother Fal, Ethna my sister, and my other brother Delan.” The voice of Airmed boomed through the seaside.

Following the interrogation, the two groups broke out into a fight. “The Riders fight to the death if you do not grant them what they wish you just signed your own death wish,” remarked Cristina Rosales, a friend of the pair, who was later interviewed on her knowledge of Faerie.

The reality struck Emma Carstairs later and she stated to Julian, “I killed him, Jules, I killed a Rider.” Julian commented on his Parabatai Emma Carstairs, “Emma, she is a strong and brave girl that people consider the Jace Herondale on our generation.”
